Through the world of cryptoart, I met many 20-year-oldish young artists, whose creation talent started to emerge when they were at school. Yet they worry about their future and fear that they cannot do what they are really into.

Becoming a full-time artist is undoubtedly risky to many people, whereas the emergence of cryptoart platforms, which gives them a clear blueprint on the possible economic return upon their artworks, makes them confident for their future career. When I encountered his artwork, with a kind of imagination and creativity I have never seen before, I was enchanted. The interview below is on his stories, artistic philosophy and his views on the world. Let us get to know more about this big boy together.

1.Please introduce yourself

Hello, my name is Octavio, a visual artist from Argentina. I am in the last year of Sound and Image Design at the University of Buenos Aires. In the university I always choose the most avant-garde professorship, the ones that were encouraged to new things. We tried new technologies. My career was always a constant try and I think that nowadays, all that practice, all those test, are defining my style. Something that I found… and I want to do.

The college experience made me an artist. I am studying Sound and Image Design, which is a university degree focused on cinema. But I was able to choose my own tutors who have pioneering teaching approaches rather than traditional. Instead of labeling us with different rolls (like director, art, camera, etc.) or giving us compulsory tasks such as making short films or movies, we experimented with new technologies like 3D software, video games. Tutors there allow us propose and pursuit a project that we truly wanted to do. In Argentina, living from art was not possible in my initial consideration, the market is super small and exclusive. So I “played” as an artist in the college thinking that I was going to be able to do those things only there. However, the cyberspace, the cryptoart market in particular, changed my life, and I can’t be more happy about it :) Now I can do what I trained myself for.

2.What was the opportunity to get you started with CRYPTOART?

My friend @lulucollages_ show me this world and I will always be grateful to her for introducing me this.

3.Who is your favorite artist and why?

It’s a really hard question, I don’t think I have a favorite one. I was a big fan of certain art movements from the past which I usually get inspired by, like futurism, surrealism and metaphysical. In the cryptoart world I am a big fan of Julian Brangold. The reason is that his style combines old and new technologies like 3D software, ancient sculptures from the Greeks and Romans. I think he has a pretty defined style that is a mix of metaphysical whit new technologies. We are currently collaborating on something and the finalization stage in recent days truly excited and amazed me.

4.Has the advent of Cryptoart changed your life? Like having more income, or making new advances in your career?

Cryptoart made a huge change in my life and I can’t be happier about it. I quit my regular day-to-day job to focus more on this, which I enjoy much more actually. I also made so so many new friends in the community as well! Now I am brewing a decision in mind that in next year or even a year after, if the Covid-19 epidemic is successfully confined, I will become a 3D master in the city of Milan.

5.Could you tell me about your understanding of CRYPTOART from your perspective?

I see it as a new art marketplace, really similar in the way it works to the traditional one. There are new styles whose value is not yet well defined in the traditional market, but recognized here in Cryptoart, just like the stuff I do.

6.Can you share with us the inspiration for your work?

Inspiration comes from different places or feelings depending on how I felt at that moment. I don’t have a recipe to get inspired, but I always have the urge for creation, it is like a form of catharsis.
